Kenichi Soga delivers keynote lecture at the Geotechnical Society of Singapore

Nanyang Technological University appointed Kenichi Soga, Chancellor’s Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering, as a Tan Chin Tuan Exchange Senior Fellow.  Soga delivered the keynote lecture at the 10th anniversary conference of the Geotechnical Society of Singapore. Soga spoke on “Innovation in Geotechnical Monitoring.” Also noteworthy, Soga was appointed Advisory Professor of Tongji University (an honorary position) in December, 2017, and Dalian University of Technology appointed him as Visiting Professor.

Kenichi Soga and team install sensors at London’s V&A museum

Kenichi Soga, Chancellor’s Professor in CEE, and the Centre for Smart Infrastructure and Construction (CSIC) at Cambridge University placed fiber-optic cables that will serve as permanent sensors on the underground structure built at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). Symposium brings together GeoEngineering graduate students and industry partners

On Feb. 1, GeoSystems PhD students organized the first ever Geotechnical Engineering Research Symposium (GERS), a conference where current Berkeley PhD students and research associates could discuss their research with friends and partners in the geotechnical industry. Event organizers were Ezra Setiasabda, Christie Denissen Hale, Grigorios Lavrentiadis, and Estefan Garcia. Anura 3D workshop in the US

The next Anura3D MPM community workshop will be held on Monday May 6th and Tuesday May 7th 2018 at UC Berkeley. It will be followed by a training course on Wednesday May 8th.
