Paola graduated from the Politecnico di Torino in Italy with both a BS and an MS in Architecture. During her studies, she developed an interest in fire safety engineering and simulations of emergency situations in the event of a fire. She focused the latter part of her academic journey and her thesis on “multiscale modeling and simulation of fire emergency scenarios.”
Currently, she is a PhD student in Civil Systems at UC Berkeley. Her current research interests revolve around simulations of wildfires and evacuation in emergency situations.
