Gersena Banushi is a research specialist at the University of California, Berkeley. Banushi earned her
Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Florence, Italy and the Technical
University of Braunschweig, Germany in 2016. She has extensive experience in research, structural and
geotechnical analysis of energy infrastructure, using analytical and advanced numerical methods
resulting in development of innovative solutions, published in peer-reviewed journals. Her research
interests are in mathematical modelling and simulation of infrastructure systems under environmental
hazards, reliability analysis, optimization, renewable energy, and infrastructure sensing technology.
