Dr Linqing Luo visited Shenzhen to install the distributed fiber optic sensing (DFOS) cables in the piles of the new building of Tsinghua-Berkeley Shenzhen Institution (TBSI) from April to June. Ruonan Ou visited Shenzhen to continue Linqing’s work from August. Prof Kenichi Soga visited TBSI campus at the end of May.
TBSI campus is going to be the smart infrastructure that with a lot of sensing embedded during construction. In total, 60km fiber optic cable will be installed which takes about 3,000,000 points per reading. The respond of building of excavation of new tunnel nearby, respond of building in Typhon season and vibration of the building, etc.
