SRG in ISMLG 2023, Cork, Ireland

Prof. Soga and the group members attended the 4th International Symposium on Machine Learning & Big Data in Geoscience (ISMLG 2023, https://www.ismlg2023.com/) at University College Cork, Ireland, from August 29 to September 1, 2023.

In the symposium, Prof. Soga delivered a keynote lecture titled “Smart Geo-Infrastructure – From Sensing to Machine Learning“.

The group’s postdoc, Dayu Apoji, presented two pieces of his work, titled “Modelling Steering Control Decision for Self-Driving Tunnel Boring Machines” and “Real Time Tunneling-Induced Ground Movement Estimation Based on EPB TBM Operation Data“.

The group’s former member, Bingyu Zhao (now Assistant Professor at TU Wien), also attended the symposium and presented her work in collaboration with the group titled “Modelling post-earthquake urban resilience considering the interactions of multiple critical infrastructures“.
