Silvio is a MSc candidate at Politecnico di Torino (Italy) and currently a Visiting Student Researcher at University of California, Berkeley.
In 2015 Silvio obtained his BSc at Politecnico di Torino in Civil Engineering after which he decided to pursue a MSc in Structural Engineering due to his interests for advanced design of buildings and infrastructures covering topics such as Bridges Construction, Static and Dynamic Instability and Earthquake Engineering.
In 2017 he joined the project IDEAL RESCUE that was granted of 1.3 Million Euro by European Research Council in the field of Integrated Design and Control of Sustainable Communities during Emergencies. His work in this research is part of his MSc thesis program and involves the resilience of an urban power network for helping city planners to improve the safety of their critical networks. His supervisor is Prof. Gian Paolo Cimellaro.
Here at UC Berkeley Silvio joined the city-scale modeling research group focusing on the interdependencies between the Transportation and the Water Distribution Networks of the San Francisco Bay Area.
