System of systems

A key question underpinning the city-scale research is to quantify the contributions of individual components towards the performance of the bigger system. In various applications and case studies, we have found the interactions between subsystems cannot be neglected. This has big policy implications and emphasis on the necessity of strengthening the corporations between various sectors to maximize the benefits or minimize the negative impacts in urban infrastructure governance. Specifically, we aim to develop digital twin systems at various scales that combine data and models from appropriate subsystems to better aid the understanding and transition towards better living environments.
