Qinglai Zhang is currently a visiting student at Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of California, Berkeley, working with Prof. Kenichi Soga. Her research focuses on the soil-pipe interaction, especially on the the modelling of defective pipe behaviour and surrounding soil response by using FEM (Abaqus).

She obtained her B.Eng Sc in Civil Engineering from China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in Sep. 2017 and M.Sc in Architecture and Civil Engineering from China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing) in Sep. 2020 with a joint-master degree with Advanced Mineral Resources Development at Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg and Montanuniversität Leoben, Austria.
