Alessandro Cardoni is a postdoctoral researcher working on urban risk and resilience assessment of interdependent infrastructures and communities. He is currently a visiting postdoctoral researcher at UC Berkeley, supported by a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship under the supervision of Prof. Kenichi Soga. His host university is Politecnico di Torino, Italy, where he obtained his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering. His research focuses on quantifying the impact of extreme natural hazards on interdependent infrastructures, and the impact these disruptions have on communities. Other themes of his research are structural health monitoring sensors and data processing techniques applied to existing structures and infrastructures. He serves as Associate Editor of “Journal of Civil Structural Health Monitoring” and Editorial Board Member of “Resilient Cities and Structures”.
