PhD Student (Hong Kong University of Science and Technology), visiting scholar
Office: 435 Davis Hall
Email: xlibp@berkeley.edu, xlibp@ust.hk

Xingyue obtained her Bachelor degree from Hohai University, China, in 2014. Currently, she is a PhD student at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and a visiting student at the University of California, Berkeley. She is working on numerical modeling of debris flow by coupled Computational Fluid Dynamics-Discrete Element Method (CFD-DEM). Her research interests include: entrainment of bed sediments by debris flow; impact behavior of debris flow considering inter-phase mass exchange; and flexible barriers for mitigating debris flow. Her PhD thesis supervisor is Prof. Jidong Zhao.

Xingyue is a recipient of Hong Kong PhD Fellowship funded by the Research Grants Council of Hong Kong as well as supported by the University Grants Council of Hong Kong by a Theme-based Research Scheme project T22-603/15N.
