Kazuhiro Mukai is a visiting scholar in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of California, Berkeley, USA. He obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degree from Okayama University, Civil and Environmental Engineering. He has been working for Takenaka Corporation as a researcher and engaged to develop contaminated soil and groundwater remediation technics for 10 years. Recently, his research interest is Wireless Sensor Networks and Fiber Optics Sensing for quantitative evaluation of urban green infrastructure. He is a licensed architect in Japan and has LEED AP, which is the professional credential for green building certification in the U.S.
